Day 13: Gorham Fruit Stand

Today I painted a roadside fruit stand near Gorham, and was again tired from the heat.  Special thanks to Ella Weaver who is the owner of this fruit stand!

Day 12: Hammondsport

This is all I could manage to paint at the Hammondsport Antique Boat Show.  There was a heat advisory and despite my best efforts to stay hydrated and cool, it was much too hot.  I may return later today, or resort to a few photos I took to finish up.

Day 11: Seward Park in Auburn

Yesterday's plein air was at Seward Park in Auburn, NY.  This was a nice, peaceful spot to paint.  There were occasionally people passing through the park but none long enough to gather a likeness.  I hope to return to Auburn before the project is over to paint other locations.

Day 10: Buffalo Street, Ithaca, NY

Need to finish up this home's shady entrance way with plants on Buffalo Street.  I enjoyed using toned paper for this one.

Day 9: Sonnenburg Gardens, Canandaigua

Had a wonderful day in Sonnenburg Japanese Garden.  Special thanks to staff Giovana for helping me transport my materials to this spot.  The bridge made of rocky stone was especially a challenge, but I am happy with the lily pads.

Day 8: Finishing up the waterfront trail view of Cornell

I had trouble with a series of rainy days which delayed finishing this small painting.  Luckily two days ago it was sunny and I was able to finish up. . . . reflections in water is something I need to practice more.  The tallest building in the background is Uris library, where I used to work!

Day 7: Memorial Day painting in Skaneateles

Here's yesterday's painting of a street scene in Skaneateles for Memorial Day.  I had a really great time and met lots of nice people.  This is the largest plein air painting I have done so far.  Along the way, I documented my process, and will post that soon!
